Raw Food – Success Factor: Decision

Raw Food? Are you saying to yourself that you want to make the change to eating more raw foods, though can’t seem to implement it? Think back to a time that you made a major change in your life. What were you thinking just before that change? What did you do differently at the time you made the change? For all of us that have gone through that experience, the moment of change comes down finally making that no-excuses, ‘must’ do it now, no-turning-back DECISION. For example, I learned about raw foods in the Spring of 1996. It attracted me; it seemed like the thing I should be doing. I just felt that I couldn’t bring myself to give up cooked food. I read about it. I tried out a few of the recipes. They didn’t taste that interesting to me. I kept reading about it. Eight years later, in August 2004, when I was overweight, tired of being tired and sick, then I decided to make the shift to raw food eating. I did it overnight.

It is possible to make a decision, implement, and back-slide. I did with raw food after the first five months. Didn’t do very well for 2005; at least, not what I thought I should be doing. When again the weight was back on, and getting sick again, and tired again, I gained the discernment of what worked and what didn’t work for me. I decided to take action again! This time it was for good.

I like what Tony Robbins writes about ‘Decision’ in his book, “Awaken the Giant Within”. He writes that ‘decisions … determine our destiny,” and “using the power of decision gives you the capacity to get past any excuse to change any and every part of your life in an instant.” He goes on to share, “If you truly decide to you can do almost anything,” and also, “Your life changes the moment you make a new, congruent, and committed decision.” Having completed the firewalk at his Unleash the Power Within seminar back in July this year, I’ve personally experienced this to be true.
